We're always looking for new volunteers to help maintain the reserve.
Families are very welcome.
We usually meet at our green cabin in the grounds of the Study Centre and work from 10:30 to 12:30.
Everyone is welcome and being part of the action is actively encouraged.
Working to a management plan, our team of volunteers meet once a month to maintain pathways, promote wildlife friendly habitats and enjoy a friendly chat.
All tools and refreshments are provided and you can do as much or as little as you like.
We will also support young people who are working towards their Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
Would you consider becoming a trustee for the Mosaic Reserve?
What does being a Trustee on the Mosaic Reserve entail? First and foremost, an understanding of the delicate balance required to fulfil the following objectives....no easy task!

A passion for protecting the wildlife and the Mosaic habitats on the 100 acre site.

A commitment to the community who enjoy the site for recreation.

An awareness of the 8ooo children who visit the reserve from the field centre and day nursery to learn about the natural environment.
TIME COMMITMENT - We meet 4-6 times a year, ususally at the Austerfield Study Centre. Meetings last about 1-2 hrs. with a cuppa and biscuits of course.
Other discussions/decisions are communicated via WhatsApp group or email (or zoom if more discussion required)
OTHER COMMITMENTS - our only income is from fundraising through events or applying for grants or bog standard begging! We are proud to say we have raised over £200k from grant funding and our events are locally renowned as brilliant, safe, family friendly enjoyable and very well attended. This obviously takes some dedication and hard work by our trustees with an all hands on deck approach required.
OTHER (choice)TIME COMMITMENTS - Some trustees join our volunteer group who meet once a month to help maintain the reserve, but not all so it’s up to you.
Any events we hold rely totally on volunteer help and support, so if you are able to lend a hand it’s always very much appreciated. Or even come up with some new ideas for events - that would be fantastic!
